Reading Life and Death, the gender swap Twilight in the heat

It's 25°C+ right now and it felt like it all landed sometime yesterday afternoon. I picked this book up again and it hits different. I'm back to the rainy, cloudy setting. That was only a few days ago here but it feels refreshing to read about it in the shade.

I'm at the bit where Edythe watches Beau in his sleep and waits. Her cold hands would feel so refreshing right now wouldn't they? If she put her pale, cold hands on your cheeks it would feel lovely and cooling. How about if she put her hands on your sweaty brow while you cope with the heat. It would feel so nice.
